Coffs to Sydney is 529 km , we had a really easy drive back with a stop at Cassagrain for a top up and a wine tasting. Felix and Marina enjoying a cheeky Red. Felix spending his winnings. We also met Cosmic, the cutest little English bulldog with piercing blue eyes. After wine tasting and a wee wee stop we are off again.
Feeling a little peckish we plan a stop again, our dilemma is that if we go too far off the road we will need to recharge. None of us are that hungry we stopped at the charger station that I knew from the way up, they have a motel there where we can lunch. There is only one car in the charging bays, so plenty of room. Off we go to the Motel for a snack, but it is not open, so off to the Petrol Station, it wasn't bad at all, Pie for me and salad for Marina and Felix with Barista Coffee. The Car now has plenty of charge. We arrived home at 3:30 which was 5hrs, which was pretty good going.
We started listening to a podcast called Winds of Change, which we were thoroughly enjoying. It is about whether or not the CIA wrote that song and used it as propaganda to end the Cold War.
The car is really comfortable, I love the self-drive, it does make a long trip easier in my view. The seats are really soft and plush and can be put into any favoured angle.
Back home, and it is good to be home. The hardest thing that I find about travelling is my midnight wee's, when you are in different accommodations every few nights, where the loo is changing in each place you stay, where the toilet paper is, changes from the left-hand side, or right-hand side or in the front. I find myself walking into kitchens, and reaching out for the loo paper in my dosed state and it's not there. Very confusing at 2 am.
The most surprising thing was how well my body coped with the walk, it was tough and my feet were AMAZING. And the glimmer of my old golf returning in competition mode - there is still hope.
The achievement of the holiday was fitting 2 golf buggies (one motorised), 2 golf bags, 2 large suitcases, 3 small hand luggage pieces, a pillow, and a car fridge which is quite large + 3 people. Pretty amazing for a small car.
The funniest moment was probably the drivet-hru MacDonalds detour, leading up to the Walk thru of the Taco Bell.
The most disappointing was the Wifi in Hervey Bay, it proves how important it is in your accommodation.
The best thing was spending quality time with the love of my life.
George has been safely delivered back to John. Til the next time, stay safe, lots of love, and "leap before you look".
